Switzerland 2008

(Euro 2008 Hosted by Austria and Switzerland)

On this page you will find some information and guide to the UEFA Euro 2008 Championship. It is officially hosted by Austria and Switzerland and is carried out every four years. The two countries became hosts in December 2002 – it was announced by UEFA. Austria and Switzerland were in competition with seven other countries, including the application of co-host by Scotland and Ireland. The games will have two hosts for the second time – the first pair of Belgium and Holland hosted it in 2000.
The matches for qualification for the championship began in 16th August 2006 and the finals will take place from 7th to 29th June 2008. On this page you will find the already fixed dates of all final matches. The qualifications began with 50 competing countries and only 16 of them (including the auto-qualified hosts) will win their participation in the finals. The Euro 2008 will surely be a great experience as the football fans in the hosting countries really show their support for the favourite teams.
