Switzerland Ski Resorts Snow Levels & Skiing Conditions Reports. Swiss Glacier Resorts and Ski Season 2008 2009 Opening Holidays.

The Swiss ski resort of Zinal (30 - 50 centimeters) has opened its pistes last week. There are currently 5 lifts in operation, accessing three kilometers of ski slopes. Cold, but pretty dry weather is predicted for this week, until Friday when heavy snowfalls are expected to arrive. Both Zermatt (10 - 220 cm) and Saas Fee (3 - 150 cm) are providing with excellent skiing and snowboarding. Also the skiable terrain on the Gornergrat glacier has been increased. Flims/Laax (0 - 80 centimeters) were set to open for the winter ski season 2008 - 2009 on fifteenth November but they are still not open today due to the insufficient snow cover, which will hopefully arrive at the end of the week.
