Samnaun is year-round resort, but it’s especially attractive for summer alpine holidays. Here one will discover with delight great landscapes of the Samnaun valley with its rich and unique Alpine flora and fauna. There are around nine hundred different kinds of plant species, some of which can only be found in the valley. Stroll along the numerous educational trails, including mountain forest trail, fairytale walk, animal trail, plant trail, Mount Calvary, etc. and enter into the charming world of Murmina and Murmin – Samnaun’s 2 mascots.

Samnaun Holidays

There are over two hundred and fifty kilometers of well marked walking paths and some great mountain bike trails through the Silvretta Arena. Delight the relaxing Alpine spring adventure pool, or find out more about the secret art of Samnaun mountain cheese.
Along with the Tyrolean resort of Ischgl in Austria, Samnaun represents the most extensive international ski area in the eastern part of the Alps. There forty-one lift systems and more then two hundred kilometers of slopes guaranteeing fantastic fun in the snow.
The first double-decker cable car world-wide - the Samnaun Twinliner, takes winter sports lovers up to 2488 meters elevation in only 8 minutes. From the end of November to early May the snow cover is perfect at this elevation, providing ski lovers with great winter pleasure.

Samnaun Transportation

Samnaun is situated in the middle of the “three-nations corner” of Switzerland, Austria and Italy, and is easily accessible from Switzerland and Austria via the highway.
One reaches Samnaun on the Engadiner route: via the Vereina Tunnel in winter or the Flüela Pass in summer, road junction Vinadi to Samnaun.
If traveling to Samnaun from within Switzerland, one need a valid travel document (ID/Passport) as in Martina one will pass Swiss Customs and could be stopped for a customs check, due to the fact Samnaun is a duty-free zone.
From Austria one can reaches the resort over the Inn valley road, via Landeck, branch off at Kajetans Bridge, then via Spiss to the town of Samnaun.
Thanks to the Vereina tunnel the traveling time from from Zurich to Samnaun on public transport takes only about two hours.
The car-train through the Vereina tunnel ensures a winter safe connection and the travel time is significantly shortened.
