Situated on the banks of Limmat River, Baden is a famous spa and health resort of Switzerland, having the highest mineral content waters of the Swiss spa resorts.  The healing qualities of Baden’s springs have been used for two thousand years, since the Romans established the settlement called Aquae Helveticae. Along with the prosperous spa tourism, today the town of Baden is also an important industrial centre. Its old town provides visitors with some great sights, such as the gothic town tower (Stadtturm), the town hall and the beautiful old lanes. Other great tourist attractions are the spa buildings in the nearby Ennetbaden. A number of guesthouses, apartments and quality hotel accommodation, as well as a good range of clubs and venues caters Baden’s visitors. The Stein castle ruins and their stunning view of the town and farther to the Laegern, as well as the range of the Jura Mountains, are also a great attraction for the towns' guests.

Baden Spa

The valuable mineral waters of Baden, which come from nineteen springs, have been blessing the town since Roman days. Approximately one million liters of the 47 degree Celsium water bubble daily, which as said above is the richest in minerals water in Switzerland!
The lively small town of Baden is only twenty minutes away from Zurich and is a popular holiday spot for both – the city residents and international travellers. Baden is not only popular for its thermal baths, spa and wellness facilities, but it is also a host of many international festivals enjoying great interest.

Baden Transportation

Zurich airport is the nearest to the town of Baden. The city is only 20 min. away, which makes Baden an international spa resort.
Baden has the oldest train station in Switzerland, from where the first train left for Zurich in 1847. There are direct train connections:
Zurich - Baden ~15 minutes;
Bern - Baden 1 hour and 20 minutes.
By car one can get to Baden: via Motorway A1 Zurich - Bern, take the exit Neuenhof - Baden or via Motorway A1 Bern - Zurich, take the exit Baden-West – Baden.
