The Swiss resort of Lenk is situated at the very rear of the Simmen valley where the Wildstrubel massif forms a magnificent valley closure in the Alps and a perfect setting for the varied Bernese Oberland winter and summer activities with its numerous natural attractions.
The holiday resort of Lenk is situated at 1068 meters elevation and is one of the most family-friendly resorts in Switzerland, providing with rich programme of children’s activities and attractions. During the summer season, the Strubeli steam railway runs for the younger visitors of this beautiful village. Lenk is also pretty popular with its festivals and courses in the fields of culture and music. The tourism history of Lenk goes back to its sulphurous springs, which are believed to favour rheumatism and respiratory diseases.
Lenk Summer Vacations, Attractions and Activities.
The Simme originates from white-foaming rock clefts, known also as the Seven Sources under the Plaine Morte Glacier on the Rezlialp. Mixed with the waters from the Wildhorn massif, which fall down one hundred meters over the beautiful Iggig falls, the young Simme is born. A very popular walk here is past the Iffig falls to the Seven Sources and further to the Simmen falls.
The Simmen valley has a total of six hundred kilometers walking trails, as well as some themed trails among them - the Lynx and Marmot Trail on the Betelberg, a Zen Trail and the Alpine Flower Trail, etc. There are also two hundred and ninety kilometers of mountain bike trails, as well as tennis and beach volleyball courts, indoor and outdoor pools.

The winter sports area around the resort of Lenk in the Simmental includes fifty lifts and a network of very varied slopes extending to 185 km. The Metschbahn cableway gives access to the entire Adelboden - Lenk skiing area with many beginner to medium difficulty runs, wide carving slopes and attractive snowboard parks.
The ski area on the Betelberg is smaller, but more suitable for family holidays. There is also a three kilometers long toboggan slope, which goes from the Leiterli mountain station to the Stoss half-way. Children will find lots to do here in the children’s paradise.
Seventy-seven kilometers of cross-country and seventy-four kilometers of winter walking trails are also available for the guests of Lenk. At St Stephan there are connections to the larger winter sport area of Gstaad-Saanenland. Other very family-friendly skiing area include Jaun pass near Boltigen.

Lenk Transportation
By train one can easily and comfortably travel via Bern - Spiez - Zweisimmen, or by MOB via Montreux - Zweisimmen to Lenk - Simmental.
By car, via Autobahn Bern A6, exit Wimmis/Zweisimmen. From Bern it is forty kilometers drive to the entrance of the Simmental valley, and ninety kilometers to the resort of Lenk .
